Club History

Rugby Swimming Club...

Swimming has always been popular in Rugby and some may remember the Regent Street baths, the open‑air pool at Avon Mill, and of course the 'Tosh' at Rugby School.  Organised swimming started in 1913 with a club called Rugby Ladies.  This was followed by the BTH Swimming Club and then ‑ in the 1930's ‑ by Rugby Seals. There was also the Rugby Life‑Saving club.  Just before Regent Street baths closed in the early 1970's, the Seals and Ladies combined to form the Rugby Swimming Club.

We are affiliated to Swim England West Midland Region, the Warwickshire ASA and are members of the Coventry & District Association of Swimming Clubs. We are also part of Coventry Solihull & Warwickshire Sport.
